Pasadena Attractions

Pasadena is famous for hosting the Tournament of Roses and Rose Bowl football game, but it has many other attractions to offer its visitors.

Pasadena Public Art Walking Tours

Pasadena has a thriving arts scene. In fact, it has a Public Art Program dedicated to public art. The program requires one percent of the building valuation of both new private development and municipal construction projects in the city to be dedicated to public art.

Artworks are site specific and are open to the public. Pasadena’s art collection is eclectic and reflects its multi-cultural heritage, values and identity. Guests may check out art glass mirrors to know more about the story of Pasadena firefights, or take photos of Pasadena heroes Mack and Jackie Robinson’s larger-than-life memorial. Other artworks include artist-designed benches, narrative murals, interactive and kinetic sculptures, and quintessential examples of modern and contemporary art movements.

Brookside Golf Club

Brookside Golf Club’s 75 years is steeped in golf tradition. The course was designed by renowned architect William P. Bell. Brookside’s 36 holes are nestled in the foothills of the city, just next to the famous Rose Bowl. Brookside Golf Club has hosted tournaments such as the Los Angeles Open and the National Public Links Championship.

Castle Green

Located next to Central Park in Old Pasadena on Raymond and Green Streets, Castle Green is one of Pasadena’s most unique buildings. It was built by Col. George G. Green of the Patent Medicine Business back in 1898 to serve as the annex for the Green Hotel. The Castle itself is an impressive 7-story Moorish Colonial-Spanish style building.

The building’s beautiful facade is aperfect backdrop for photographs and film. It is also an ideal location for weddings and formal gatherings. Visitors can tour the castle’s many rooms and rest in Moorish, Turkish and Victorian salons, hold festive parties in the Palm terrace ballroom, or stroll along the verdant, private gardens. Guests can also rent an apartment at Castle Green.

The Rose Bowl Stadium

The Rose Bowl is the home of big events like the Tournament of Roses Football Game, UCLA Bruin Football, Fourth of July celebrations, concerts, and the world’s largest flea market – R.G. Canning. Built in 1922, the Rose Bowl Stadium has hosted five NFL Super Bowl Games: the 1984 Olympic Soccer Matches, the 1994 Men's World Cup, the 1999 Women's World Cup and the 2002 and 2006 BCS National College Football Championship Games. The Rose Bowl Stadium is one of Pasadena’s most important national historical landmarks.
